About Archive & Ink
Our Story
Archive & Ink was born from a simple observation: the world's museums, libraries, and archives contain millions of stunning illustrations, ornaments, and designs — all in the public domain — but most are locked away in deteriorating scans, yellowed pages, and hard-to-access databases.
We source illustrations from institutions like the Smithsonian, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Rijksmuseum, the Biodiversity Heritage Library, and dozens more. Then we meticulously clean, restore, vectorize, and package them for modern use.
The result: production-ready vintage design assets that work beautifully in today's projects, with full commercial use rights and zero attribution requirements.
Frequently Asked Questions
What file formats do you offer?
Most packs include SVG (scalable vector), PNG at 3000px (print resolution), and PNG at 1200px (screen resolution). Pattern packs include seamless tileable files. Texture packs include high-res PNGs only.
What resolution are the PNG files?
PNGs are exported at 3000px (longest edge) for print use and 1200px for screen/web use. All PNGs have transparent backgrounds.
Can I use these commercially?
Absolutely. Every purchase includes a full commercial license. Use them in client work, products, merchandise, packaging, and print-on-demand. No attribution required.
Can I sell products using these on Etsy?
Yes! Our assets are perfect for Etsy sellers. Create print-on-demand products, digital downloads, stationery, and more. Just don't resell the raw asset files themselves.
Do I need to give credit?
No. Attribution is appreciated but never required.
